RM_CommonStatisticLib is the name space for the common statistic subsystem. RM_CommonStatisticLib.h contains the resource monitor's common statistic subsystem defines.

This subsystem known as the Common Statistic Library (CSL) accesses statistic information provided by kernel device drivers and creates inline monitors in the Common Statistic Module (CSM) for statistic data provided by these kernel device drivers. The CSL uses the APIs provided by the Common Resource Management File System (CRMFS). Each driver that registers with the CSM is also registered as a subsystem with the resource monitor by the CSL.

Note:

The CSL depends on the CSM to manage device driver registration information, statistics, and inline monitors created by Resource Monitor applications. Not all monitoring features provided by the RM daemon are supported by the CSM module. A list of the unsupported features and how they are handled follows:

• CSL returns ENOSYS in global variable "errno" for ResourceMonitor::rmCreateMonitor in the following cases:
  1. when rmThresholdConfiguration field "condition" is "rmValueIsNotAt".
  2. when rmMonitorConfiguration field "statisticTransform" in not "rmNone".
  3. when rmThresholdConfiguration field "precondition" is not "rmNoPrecondition".
  4. when rmMonitorControl field "monitoringInterval" is not 0.
  5. when rmThresholdControl field "samples" is not 0.
  6. when rmThresholdControl field "tolerance" is not 0.
• CSL returns EINVAL in global variable "errno" for ResourceMonitor::rmSetMonitorConfiguration in the following cases:
  1. when rmThresholdConfiguration field "condition" is "rmValueIsNotAt".
  2. when rmMonitorConfiguration field "statisticTransform" in not "rmNone".
  3. when rmThresholdConfiguration field "precondition" is not "rmNoPrecondition".
• CSL returns EINVAL in global variable "errno" for ResourceMonitor::rmSetMonitorControl in the following cases:
  1. when rmMonitorControl field "monitoringInterval" is not 0.
  2. when rmThresholdControl field "samples" is not 0.
  3. when rmThresholdControl field "tolerance" is not 0.
• CSL returns EINVAL in global variable "errno" for ResourceMonitor::rmResetCounterStatistic in the following cases:
  1. when the parameter "*val" is not 0.
• CSL returns 0 in the following fields for calls to ResourceMonitor::rmGetMonitorState:
  1. rmMonitorState field "lastMonitoredValue".
  2. rmLeakyBucketState fields "bucketLevel" and "LastEventTime".
  3. rmThresholdState field "LastEventTime".
